In today’s episode Nicole asks the question as she’s about to graduate; how do I get started and I am fearful So, What next?

This is one of those many preemptive Oh sh_t moments! I just graduated . . . So, Now what?”

This is the overwhelming thought running through most likely 90% or more of all graduating classes. As they walk across the stage and received their diploma in something they will most likely never have a direct career path in.

You are leaving the structure of college to entering the real world of work. From this day forward, nothing will seem familiar to you. Especially if you choose the path of entrepreneurship.

There are no classes, no exams, or a degree at the end of the up in coming years. You don’t get summers off either. This next phase is unstructured, and your success will be determined by the choices you make.

I can assure life is going to be riddled with tough questions

And those answers we don’t always know off the top of our heads. And the reality is, we all face these kinds of questions throughout most of our lives.

But in my opinion, So what’s next or what should I do now is not all bad and

depending on your perspective it can be something positive. As I see the question of.. so what’s next.

I see it as positive. To me it means you are always looking to the horizon. So rather than internalizing the unknown as negative or fearful. We can turn that fear inside out and look for the possibilities that lie ahead and be grateful to be at a point in our lives where anything is possible and a chance to become legendary exists within our control.

I share in this episode the secret of living in the Now! and seizing the moment. And just taking time to pause.

Here are the te things I share in this episode on wisdom I wish I had at an early age:

1. Have a plan — and change it often. So, have a plan and use it as a rough road map. Understand that any plan is a reflection of what you think your journey is at a particular moment in time — and be prepared to change it radically and often.

2. Be the most authentic version of yourself — all the time. If you want to be an actor, go to Hollywood. Everyone else: be who you really are. Your authenticity must shine through

3. Your first job should be about experience. The best first jobs are not always the highest paying jobs or at best companies.
4. In the beginning forget “work-life balance.” If you want to work with great people, solve tough problems and leave the world better off because of your work, it’s tough to have “work-life balance
5. There are no short-cuts. There is no fast lane to success.
6. Take calculated risks. So many of you will choose to “play it safe” by doing what your parents and friends would do.
7. Have great mentors. There is nothing more impactful on your career and personal development than having great mentors
8. Be the kind of person everyone wants on their team. Be the person who leans in, Be the person who adds value to every equation.
9. Follow your passion. Write your own script and own your own luck!.
10. Be grateful . This final one is about how you carry yourself. And your perspective mindset.

I do hope that by listening to this show I can bring some awareness and guidance for the road that lies ahead and don’t worry if you don’t have all of the answers right away. They will come in the now so be patient and enjoy the journey.

Remember, this life is all about the eulogy and not the resume, nobody will care about what school or degrees  you accomplished along the way, but they will remember you for the love and the wisdom and legacy you left behind.
